XMR-Stak is perhaps best known as a cryptocurrency mining software for Monero, but did you know that it also supports other altcoins? Indeed, XMR-Stak is quite versatile and can mine a handful of other coins that use the Cryptonight and Cryptonight Lite algorithms.
Here’s the full list of cryptocurrencies that XMR-Stak supports:
The XMR-Stak team notes that when you first start up the program, you will be asked if you want to set it up to mine Monero or Aeon. Obviously you’ll want to choose Aeon if that’s the altcoin you want to mine, but you should choose Monero if you’re mining Electroneum, Intense, or Sumokoin.
XMR-Stak has support for all the most common hardware, including x86 CPUs, as well as AMD and Nvidia GPUs. On the software front, it supports Linux (in a variety of flavors), Windows, and macOS. You can read more about XMR-Stak at the software’s Github page. For quick access, you can find the latest downloads for the Windows version at the Github Releases page.
